Areas of Expertise & Civic Involvements
Sojourner is a labor economist with expertise in three main areas: the effects of labor unions in the economy and society, how improved early childhood and K-12 policies can help people reach their full potential, and how people make decisions about their personal finances. He serves on the Human Capital Research Collaborative’s steering committee. In the past, he has worked as an organizer, fellow at the U.S. Senate’s Labor Policy Office, and advisor to the Illinois State Treasurer.
